Gehrke has hit a home run! This book will keep you on the edge of your seat right up to the end.This is a murder mystery with a paranormal twist. Not ordinarily a fan of ghost stories, especially in writing, I was pleasantly surprised at how this book kept my attention. I really enoyed the attention to detail and continuity--for me this makes the story easier to follow and gives the author credibility.
Bottom line: if you're looking for an easy, entertaining read that keeps you guessing and amused, read Brogan's Island.

Great, captivating book right from the start. The characters were so easy to identify with I hated to say goodbye to them when the story ended. The way the characters are carefully interwoven into this nail-biting mystery, really made "Brogan" a can't-put-down, entertaining read. I recommend Brogan's Island for anyone, male or female, looking for a good drama, murder mystery combination.
Brogan's Island has it all! Suspense, romance, and a plot with a twist that will keep you guessing all the way through. Although the book is lengthy, the story line keeps moving along keeping the reader involved. I couldn't put it down!

It is like getting multiple books in one! I loved this story, it had intrigue, mystery, a ghost story, and a serial killer or two? I chose this book for my book club and thoroughly enjoyed it and recommend to everyone. Dave has a real knack for bringing his characters to life.
Ya' just have to be rooting for the ghosts in this tale ~ and the premise certainly had me wondering about all the little unexplained things in life. Now...where the are those marshmallows? ;)
I enjoyed this book immensely. A complex, page-turning story with many unexpected surprises. A most unusual and touching story made entirely believable by the author. You are locked in immediately with the characters and grow to care for how their lives will unfold.
I look forward to reading more of this author's work. Meanwhile, I highly recommend this story.
I really enjoyed this book. I thought that I was getting a murder mystery, but it was so much more. A ghost story, romance and more than one unexpected plot twist combined in a book that I could not put down. The only thing that kept me from giving this book 5 stars was that I do think that the story could have been tightened up a bit. Sometimes the three and four-way dialog seemed too drawn out.
Overall, I would recommend this book and I will definitely be reading anything else from this author.
